Do forecasts of bankruptcy cause bankruptcy? A sensitivity analysis via indirect machine learning.
Details on my main page. This was my first project as a graduate student, and is a cool read. Longer version with more graphs and detail here, click picture or title for published version. Link to the R-package associated with the paper and the code repository.

Deep Learning for Causal Inference using Neural Networks
This is a joint effort to try and create a deep neural net framework for causal inference settings, where tree based methods currently are more frequently used. Developed using PyTorch. My contribution was primarily in the simulation studies and the writing, with help developing the code and infrastructure.

Low-temperature and dynamic magnetism of highly frustrated 5d2 Li4MgOsO6 polymorphs in comparison with 5d3 Li3Mg2OsO6
I played a similar role in this paper as the inorganic chemistry paper. We additionally have some compounds we synthesized, characterized, and ran magnetic susceptibility tests at McMaster University. This may soon result in an additional publication if we can get neutron scattering measurements completed.

Synthesis, Crystal Structure, and Magnetic Properties of the Highly Frustrated Orthorhombic Li4MgReO6
This was a paper published on work done as an undegrad physics researcher. My primary contribution was help in muon-spin relaxation measurement portion of the paper.

Interpretable causal inference for asynchronous epidemics
Here, we develop a framework to study the causal effects of vaccinations on the severity of covid outbreaks in the U.S. This is a difficult observational problem, but we carefully approach the problem, with an analysis that is both empirically justified and backed with simulations.
